A spouse has been blamed for shooting his wife THREE TIMES since she "bothered" him for leaving the espresso machine on.
Police say 65-year-old Larry Lotz lost control amid a column at their home close Chicago.
He told specialists he "had enough of her pestering" and shot Karen Lotz, 59, in the head.
Lotz, an armed force veteran, is accused of first-degree murder for shooting his wife.
He is being held in guardianship pending the installment of a safeguard bond set at $3 million.
What began as a local line soon turned fierce, say police.
The couple were contending over the espresso machine being left on and that is when Lotz went for his weapon.
After the contention, Lotz left the kitchen and into his home office, where he snatched a .45-gauge handgun, Assistant State's Attorney Chris Corbin told the Chicago Tribune.
At the point when his wife tailed him into the workplace Lotz discharged four shots at her, striking her three times - incorporating once in the head, Corbin told the paper.
Lotz evidently claimed up to the murdering amid two telephone calls. One was to his child and the other was a reported admitted to a 911 administrator.
The paper said he told the dispatcher: "I simply shot my wife. I simply shot my wife. If you don't mind send an emergency vehicle."
Mrs Lotz was raced to an adjacent healing facility , yet soon kicked the bucket.
