A marathon runner pulled a quick one and swiped a kindred contender's expensive iPhone toward the completion line of a philanthropy race.
Caroline Elstob, 51, got the telephone alongside her own things from the property transport in the wake of beating her adversary and timing a respectable 1hr 35mins in the Great North Run .
Rival Michelle Hartley, who claimed the £400 gold handset , figured out how to square it so Elstob went to a shop and stole another, abandoning the first.
The second burglary five days after the race was caught on CCTV and Elstob, who has an extensive record of past robberies, conceded two numbers of robbery.
Glenda Beck, arraigning , said: "The harmed party, Michelle Hartley, had participated in the Great North Run and left her gold Apple iPhone 6 in the property transport, which was then taken to the completing line in South Shields for runners to gather their products
